Artist's Comments

I had to find something to stand on to get my camera over the top of the mongoose pen, and as soon as i looked through the viewfinder I found this one looking like he was about to make a leap for the end of my lens.
I fired off a single exposure and withdrew, and my aperture priority auto-ISO setting did the rest!

This picture was taken in Dudley Zoo, Birmingham

ok well thats just terrifying
He does not look happy, must be the Yellow Mongooses reaction to anyone looking over the glass as I've had a similar nasty look from one.

Well you’ve certainly stumped the Gardeners Question Time Panel. None of us know how to bring a Fox to orgasm.
I don't think he was used to people actually sticking their head/camera into the pen, as the glass is supposed to be high enough to stop the public doing that. Still, it got his attention, which was a bonus!
Thanks for the :+fav: too!
:)

your lense may have looked like a snake coming over the top...
...i'd say the auto stuff worked well

i forgot about the whole mongoose/snake relationship
now i know how the snake would feel...
i'm very pleased with the camera's auto capabilities, i used to shoot entirely in manual, which meant i got exactly what i wanted, but i kept missing shots
eventually decided not to be such a control freak and start using aperture priority and auto ISO... ironically i think this photo could have used a bit more depth of field, so that would be my fault alone... doh

i know what you mean....i do find those quick opportunities are not lost with the auto features

take the time to do the fine tuning when the situation makes its self available....auto the rest of the time
