The second of two shots I've uploaded of a Yellow-Billed Kite at ICBP catching food out of the air. I really hope it is a Yellow-Billed Kite; it's hard to identify these birds sometimes, expecially when it's been eight months since I took the shot! It looks pretty red to me, so I'll stick with it unless someone corrects me!

You can really see those sharp claws ready to grab the food. Nice action shot!

Thanks, yeah I love photographing kites for that reason; the catches are so dramatic. As an added bonus, they're not hard to get as kites glide around very slowly!

I've updated the description; think it's a Yellow-Billed kite. I'll have to remember to ask next time I'm over there.

You take beautiful shots! May I ask what camera you use?

Also, I don't think that is a Red Kite. Red Kites have white on their heads and white under their wings. I'm not sure of what it really is, either, so I'm no help there.

You're probably right, the more I look at it the more I think it's probably a black kite. It's hard to tell from the angles I have shots from!

Oh, to answer your first question, I use a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 150-500mm lens. :)
